Personally I search the Purpose of a design.

It is to decide on a strong focal point that will drive all the architectural system, draw everybody’s attention and create that perfect balance and rythm. This purpose or concept reflects in the design creating this way new buildings and the spaces in and around them. A living organism!

Design and development of architectural projects

Francesca Sorcinelli holds a MArch at IUAV University of Venice. She is Co-Founder and Partner of DOnner SOrcinelli Architecture (DOSO) an award-winning Architecture Atelier based in Venice and Dubai. Her works with DOSO have been extensively published in architecture books and international magazines. Some of these works have been exhibited in international venues e.g. Architecture Biennale of Venice, Architecture Center Houston, The Architecture Foundation London as well as Van Alen Institute of New York, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Architecture Moscow, Daegu Architectural Culture Biennale and 24th UIA Tokyo Congress. She has been teaching Architecture and Interior Design in Universities in Italy and United Arab Emirates since 2008. Francesca is currently Assistant Professor at Zayed University where she teaches studios and theory courses. In her published research papers Francesca examines the dichotomy between housing and living habits coming from different cultural settings in existing urban contexts. She has been also investigating urban environments and landscapes in the United Arab Emirates by means of photography.

I Focus on architecture and civil engineering .I inspired from Calatrava that he counted among architects with strong grip over engineering.The transition of Calatrava from small scale projects to major civic projects came through a competition in which he designed Zurich’s new train station. In early phase of his career, he gained fame as the architect of bridges. His engineering expertise helped him with getting through these projects and he made around 50 bridges right at the start. His asymmetrical bridge designs supported with concrete and steel and dramatic structures soon attracted worldwide attention and earned Calatrava a lot of international fame..

My architectural focus is on creating sustainable, green designs that prioritize energy efficiency. I am dedicated to developing buildings that minimize environmental impact through innovative use of materials, renewable energy sources, and efficient systems. By integrating natural elements and eco-friendly practices, I aim to design structures that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also significantly reduce carbon footprints and promote a healthier, more sustainable way of living.
