I am Ar. Rien Tan Kwon Chong, a full time Professional architect and a part-time lecturer. I graduated with first class honors from UCSI Univesity (bachelor Degree in Architecture) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Master in Architecture) in year 2013 & 2015. Upon graduating, I travelled to Osaka, Taipei & New York where he worked with architecture firms to take up challenges on future residences and offices design. In Year 2016, I emerged as the winner for Asian Young Designer Award, beating 11 other participants from other Asian countries. Recently, Ar.Rien also won first price for International Design Competition on Tropical Housing for Orang Asli. I am now based in KL focusing on high-rise design in WDA Architects. My passion towards architectural field and the society were spread through the sharing session he has given in events like Pontian Home Coming Series 2017 and UCSI Architectural Graduates Show 2018 - 2020. I also been involved in a few volunteer project including EPIC Home (building shelter for indigenous community), PPIP (Pontian Tourism Association), PAM (Malaysia Architect Association) since year 2013.

I am a multiqualified Architect in various field of Architecture, training, alternative dispute resolution, social masterplanning , asset & events management, Social media content designer and many more.  

My Architectural focus is in Sustainable Development not limited to only Architecture, but how the build environment we design can push boudaries towards empowerment of people through the creation of circular economy, social integration and collaboration, and enviromental health to combat climate change.

Architect of the future now needs to look beyond and behave as not only Architectural designer, but the leaders of the design world imbedding holistic knowledge of environmental design, social science, business development , technology adaptation and becoming globalise in the world and outerspace.

Mr. Rien Tan Kwon Chong is a full time project architect and a part-time travel blogger. Rien graduated with honors from UCSI Univesity (bachelor Degree in Architecture) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Master in Architecture) in year 2013 & 2015. Upon graduating, he travelled to Osaka, Taipei & New York where he worked with architecture firms to take up challenges on future residences and offices design. In Year 2016, he emerged as the winner for Asian Young Designer Award, beating 11 other participants from other Asian countries. In year 2018, Rien has been shortlisted as the Top 50 finalist in the International Inspirelli Design Award.  Rien is now based in KL focusing on high-rise design in W Design Associates. His passion towards architectural field and the society were spread through his design studio namely Rien Atelier and the other public sharing session.

I am interested in architecture that relates to the culture where it is located, and at the time reflects the nuances of emerging contemporary living.
