Silo solution - as I have read in some articles, the silo cannot be renewed - so is it worth sorting out new silo/silos for grain storage?
The problem of silo renewal has a total of three points of view. Firstly, the silo was funded by the Kuwaiti government and now there is reportedly an offer on the table again for Kuwait to fund the restoration of the structure.
The moral point of view is quite different; in Beirut the background to the explosion is the as yet completely unresolved issue of dealing with the survivors and punishing the guilty, and so the Silo building is a kind of symbol that may not be touched at all, and we would personally recommend considering its preservation as a kind of memorial.
The third view is purely economic, the whole harbour area is one of the most expensive pieces of land in Libanon and in this context to put a food warehouse in this location is probably economic nonsense.
Does the silo building need to be remediated or could it have potential in another use?
We believe it should be a memorial that can be incorporated into some other development.
The land use that we have been given and the individual buildings are to remain in place or can I arrange these buildings?
The buildings are no longer there, the city, especially the mayor, asked us to focus on the economic prosperity of the site for the future of Beirut. So in our opinion, we are talking about creating a luxury bussiness zone.
How much can the shape of the coastline change?
Arbitrarily, it is all about ideas and nothing is impossible. Developers are waiting for their opportunity and this area is literally asking for it. Every disaster is the beginning of something new.
Is there any pressure? Due to diversity of culture?
We believe not. Beirut is a crossroads of many cultures and religious movements.
Are there any reclycled materials?
There is still debris from the explosion in the intake, but it probably also contains the remains of the victims, so we do not think it would be wise to count on it as a source of material for a new port.
What are the materials used in the context? What are the local materials?
Concrete , steel , wood, stone are the most common used materials for construction. Concrete is 90% pervasive.
How different culture interact?
By coexisting side by side and people are used to it.

Is there any specific materiál, or is there a freedom in material?
We believe that in the context of land value, students do not have to consider the material specification and can design freely in this context.
As mentioned briefly, the previous planning was very functional. Should we replace the previous placement? Containter zone, what about the other zones?
We believe that the previous design of the port did not meet the needs of the city and the cost of the land. Now, after the explosion, this can be rectified. The Container Zone, Truck parking, port lines and Empty Container Zone should remain with the cargo port, the rest of the land should be proposed for public use.
As what had happened with the blast, should we design a more stable and strenghten or just a normal design?
What happened was related to human activity and not natural influences, so there is no need to subordinate design to preparation for something similar.
What are the main problems while redesigning the port? What challenges should we solve out while designing?
The city of Beirut does not have an adequate city park and does not have enough places for people to rest. Thus, the biggest challenge is to create a harmony between the economic benefits of the new port and the benefits for the people of Beirut.
What enviromental factors should we keep in mind while designing? Is the land able to fertile the greenery?
The people of Beirut need to connect nature with the city. That is, connect the city to the coast. When it comes to green space designs, at this stage of design solutions you can afford not to deal with possible technological complications in the actual implementation.
