Václav Havel was a Czech playwright, essayist, dissident, and critic of the communist regime, later a politician and statesman. He was the ninth and last president of Czechoslovakia (1989–1992) and the first president of the Czech Republic (1993–2003). He became the fourth European to be honoured by having his bust placed in the US Congress building.

Bořek Šípek was a world-famous Czech artist, architect, designer and university teacher, known mainly as a creator of glass art objects and furniture or as the chief architect of the Prague Castle administration from the period of President Václav Havel (1992–2002). He experimented with unexpected and often opulent shapes. Šípek is said to be the father of "Neo-Baroque".

Karel Smejkal is an architect, writer, scientist and university teacher. Formal Vice-Chairman of the Czech Architects Association (2017-19), Eastern Europe Director of the American Institute of Architects Continental Europe chapter, head of the research team and founder of applied psychology of architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
