Architectural detail (spiral staircase + railing)
In the main space - the foyer is a generous spiral staircase designed to give this space its importance. Above the entrance and the staircase there is a cant over both floors, with a gallery on the 2nd floor.
The staircase itself is designed as a monolithic, reinforced concrete, embedded in an arched, also reinforced concrete wall, which copies and underlines the direction of movement on the staircase. The stair outlet arm is then fixed into the ceiling slab above the 1st floor. The railing is designed from galvanized solid steel profiles, circular cross-section, with a diameter of 10mm. These profiles are firmly connected to the staircase using a chemical anchor.
The handrail profile is specified in the detail drawing, designed from solid ash wood.
Light sculpture is also placed above the staircase, underlining the used, repeating motif of the circle - the arc, which is based on the pragmatic nature of this shape used in the windows of ships, submarines, arch of an aqueduct, or, for example, a rescue ring. The space below the staircase is complemented with furniture for seating.
