Project idea

This project aims to refunction an existing building, which was previously part of a construction venture but had some segments lacking function. Through this project, the unused spaces have been transformed into areas with new functions, adapting to the contemporary needs of the community.

Specifically, a part of the building has been converted into a restaurant, providing a welcoming and functional space for food service, while the other part has been transformed into a food market, selling fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, and various local foods. This intervention aims not only to revitalize the existing building but also to promote social life and support the local economy.

The selection of new functions was made considering the urban context, community needs, and the potential to create a small social hub that revitalizes the surrounding area. The project respects the building's existing structure, integrating new functional and aesthetic elements in harmony with its original character.

This refunctionalization represents a contemporary approach to preserving and adapting existing spaces, contributing to sustainable urban development and promoting the efficient use of construction resources.

Project description

This project aims to bring back into use an existing building that was part of a construction venture, where several spaces were unused and served no function. Through this intervention, these spaces have been transformed into areas with new functions that meet the needs of the community and enhance the potential of the area.

The building now has two main functions: a restaurant and a food market. The restaurant provides an attractive and functional space for customers, offering high-quality services and a welcoming atmosphere. Meanwhile, the food market will offer fresh and local products, contributing to strengthening the local economy and supporting local producers.

This project is a solution that seeks not only to revitalize an unused space but also to create new opportunities for social and economic activities. The new spaces are designed to have a positive impact and to support the creation of a social hub that contributes to the development of the area. Most of the interventions have been carried out with respect for the existing structure of the building, while the new elements have been integrated in harmony with its original aesthetic.

This project transforms unused spaces into opportunities for the community and represents a new model for adapting existing buildings to contemporary functions that meet citizens' needs and contribute to the sustainable development of the city.

Technical information

This project employed an advanced technical approach to ensure that the transformation of the existing building would be sustainable and functional. Most of the interventions were carried out with respect for the existing structure, while modern and sustainable materials were used to ensure maximum performance of the new spaces.

Building Structure:
The building is constructed with a concrete and steel framework, with reinforced elements supporting various spaces. The reconfiguration was completed without affecting the stability of the building, utilizing advanced structural engineering methods.

Materials:
The materials used were carefully selected to ensure durability and efficiency. For decorative and exterior elements, natural and sustainable materials such as treated wood and glass façades were used, preserving the building’s traditional appearance while also providing thermal and energy efficiency.

Lighting and Heating Systems:
The lighting systems are based on LED technology to provide efficient and sustainable illumination, while the heating systems utilize solar energy and hot water heating solutions to warm the indoor spaces.
