The aim of the studio was to embrace changes by designing structures that would withstand time and is easily adaptable over time. This concept of design responds acordingly to evolving urban changes, architectural and aesthetic needs.
Designed as a neutral and adaptable framework, the project was initially planned for a school typology but can accommodate various future uses. It retains the existing structure and builds around it, with spatial organization transitioning from public at the base to private at the top. At its core, a stepped courtyard serves as both circulation and communal space, connecting users and inviting interaction. This central void becomes the social heart of the building, supporting flexibility, openness, and long-term adaptability.
The lower floors are constructed in reinforced concrete, allowing for wide structural spans that accommodate open, publicly accessible programs. In contrast, the upper levels adopt a timber construction system with more narrower spans, fostering a sense of enclosure and privacy appropriate for more intimate or residential functions.
