Project idea

The project’s theme is the design of a family home for a couple with two children, an imaginative experiment
and individual interpretation, with the aim that the architecture proposed by each of you finds its place on
29 Daniel Barcianu Street.

Project description

To complete the assignment given by my teacher, I came up with the idea of a house for nature lovers who want to experience it in the middle of a busy city like Bucharest. Greenery serves as a buffer space between the gray, cold city and the warm, peaceful feeling that the house provides. When talking abiut the interior, I wanted to maintain a fairly circular corridor that surrounds all the rooms, serving as the main access way to them. This corridor is filled with flowers and plants, creating a natural and refreshing atmosphere. This corridor acts as a buffer space, softening the transition between the indoor and outdoor environments. The facades have large windows that allow plenty of natural light to enter, while the plants act like natural blinds, providing both shade and privacy. This integration of greenery not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also improves indoor air quality and creates a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the day.

Technical information

The house is made of concrete and has a fairly simple structure, as I focused primarily on the concept. The minimalist design allows the emphasis to remain on the integration of nature, with the green corridor acting as a key element in balancing the raw, urban material with a more organic and calming atmosphere.
