The site is located in Prague part called Malešice. On the northern side of the plot, there are residential buildings which limit the height of my building and on the south, there is a large park.
The visual part of the building was inspired by water (kapka = waterdrop):
• Oval shape
• Photovoltaic panels
→ Southern facade
→ Various shades of blue
→ Pattern resembles water ripples
• Structured metal panels
→ Northern facade
→ Structure resembles water ripples
The apartment building contains various apartments, from 1 room to large apartments with rooftop terraces. On the underground floor are garages and storage rooms for the residents. Although the building serves mainly residential purposes there is a small retail space with a terrace located on the ground floor.
Above the usual extent of a studio project, this time we were supposed to design a passive building by implementing principles for building passive buildings & using different technologies:
• Oval shape:
→ Smaller surface area than a rectangle of the same volume
→ Elimination of corners
• Ground source heat pump:
→ Heating, Water heating
• Rainwater usage:
→ Watering, Toilets, Fountains
• Photovoltaic panels:
→ Electricity
• Wines:
→ Seasonal shading
