Project idea

Declaration of the "Coral Cave" aims to build a 5-star hotel on a Mountain Island in Safaga in the Red Sea to receive tourists, and provide comfort, attractive landscapes, and provide well-being, The project aims to reimagine a small island in the Red Sea for the design of a 5-star hotel. whether horizontal or vertical, in harmony with the mountainous topography of the island and the surrounding context of the Red Sea, considering the design starting point from the western side of the island.
The mountainous context overshadowing the waterfront, and how to deal with the different features and natural compositions of the project site. Likewise, how to integrate the environmental heritage with the project context to give it a unique character.

Project description

the form was inspired by the topography of the mountain found in the Red Sea, and the shape of the mountain was preserved by digging grottoes and caves that give the visitor a sense of nature and identity of the place

The challenge is to shape, delete, and add what each team deems appropriate to show the design idea.

Main Services for the Hotel on the Island
First: Reception and Administration

Includes a lobby for room reservations and waiting, and an area for luggage storage and showers.
4-6 various shops (souvenirs, gifts – currency exchange – clothing).
Administrative offices (hotel manager, several administrative rooms. Services (office and water closets)).
Second: Restaurant and Cafeteria Group

Main restaurant with an area determined according to the requirements of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
Small restaurant for light meals and drinks, with a capacity of about 50 individuals.
Water bar with a capacity of about 100 individuals.
Service equipment allocated for each, including kitchens and water closets for both genders.
Third: Diving Center

Office for booking diving tours.
Storage for diving equipment.
Changing rooms and water closets for both genders.
Seating areas for departure to diving sites.
Fourth: Accommodation

Hotel accommodation ranging from 130-150 rooms (single and double).
Service rooms for room service (office, sports, and storage).
Consideration for horizontal and vertical communication elements for both guests and service.
Fifth: Entertainment Elements

Beach facilities (fixed and mobile units).
One-day accommodation on the beach for 8-10 rooms.
Day trip tourism service for guests as well as for single-day services.
Various shops for items such as souvenirs, currency exchange, clothing, and showers.
Fitness Center with Sauna, Jacuzzi, Massage Rooms, and a Gymnasium for 30 individuals.
Sixth: Celebration Hall

The main celebration hall accommodating around 200 people, is designed flexibly for internal and external celebrations.
The group should consider easy access to the hall for both guests and visitors by providing convenient areas for service, water closets for both genders and other equipment.
Seventh: Main Services for the Hotel

Loading dock for food supplies, including a weighing and receiving area with 2 administrative offices.
General warehouses and specialized storage units.
Laundry section (2 administrative offices + storage + tools storage + washing unit + drying unit + ironing unit).
Maintenance section (2 administrative offices + storage + carpentry workshop + painting workshop + electrical workshop, etc.).
