Project idea

My project is divided into 3 stages

1) The proposal of an approach to the development of the entire territory of the museum complex

2) Layout of the museum, explication of rooms

3) An example of the interior design of a museum

Main Projects ideas :

1) To preserve the legacy of Oskar Schindler - his factory, where he saved many people from the horrors of World War II. Restoration of the historical appearance of the interiors and exteriors of the building, where possible, and adaptation of the space to the tasks of the museum.

2) In addition to the basis of all work - the restoration of the museum, it is important to create the infrastructure of the museum complex that will attract people's attention and allow various regional events to be held, which will give a bonus to the development of the city in the future

Project description

An alley runs along the entire museum complex, connecting various disparate blocks, galleries and public spaces. The alley is two-storeyed, which gives great architectural freedom vertically. The alley ends with the main historical square, where there is a screen that can be seen from the very beginning of the alley On the same square there is the Oskar Schindler Museum - a monument to people who survived the horrors of World War II and the main building of the museum complex Globally, Schindler's Ark has not undergone significant changes, wide spaces of factory architecture are well suited for zoning for exhibitions and various events. Only a lecture & cinema hall with 150 seats, was attached to the museum. If you exit the museum through another entrance, you will see that a spacious park adjoins the museum building, separated from the main pedestrian alley by a wall with arched passages and fences made of greenery.

The musem complex includes a venue for city festivals and events on the site of an old textile workshop. The location of the hotel with 80 rooms is also justified. It is located at the beginning of the alley - the beginning of the way for tourists from the entrance to the museum building. There is also a cafe with a summer terrace along the way.

Technical information

The museum complex's structures are based on the preserved historical structures and foundations of the Oskar Schindler factory. Where the construction is not possible to use, it is replaced or strengthened. Most of the new buildings on the territory of the complex use a frame construction system.
