Project idea

We have been looking for a method to use technology and think about it in a way that would enable human activities produce sustainability, given the way the world is changing every day. The cost is high for a typical family to run a sustainable business and all of this is actually housed in a small space. This small building also supports a full business (flower shop-greenhouse) which meets all of a family's financial needs and, on the other hand, with exceptional motion algorithms, it increases productivity and reduces the need for manpower.

This simple apartment with a medium opening is located in a building close to Tehran University, Iran's largest university, and serves as a reflection center for science and daily life in a former residential area. Actual zoning laws in Tehran were used to guide all design decisions. We did this to show the power of our idea.
This building can be turned into a huge data center with the knowledge of agricultural students and all generations can benefit
Our concept development for this design, which provides step-by-step complete solutions to design problems, is illustrated in sheets and photos.

Project description

ai bloomscpae (from the Future)

The limitless capacity of humans for imagination and their boundless potential for growth and transformation is the starting point of this design: a leaf from the future, which you will come to know as purpose and meaning.

At this time, we are facing a new overarching narrative, so topics related to societies are predictable. Initially, orthodox architectural thinking may oppose this, but eventually and undoubtedly, it will be submerged in the rushing torrent. In this design, we seek solutions to preserve the values of Iranian architecture while contemplating the unpredictable events of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and defining how to live in small-scale spaces in the future.

What We See...
Here, the iconic nature of the project does not relate to the object itself because it can have very disruptive impacts on existing values. The topic of singularity relates to an element that can be integrated with the project and give it a functional role.

Shaping the Project System...
By examining the tectonics of the regional fabric, aspects such as how to convert an apartment into a home are discovered, giving this neighborhood its unique singularity. By striving to recognize the relevant potentials, we were able to arrive at a new solution, which is the combination of future and past—a phenomenon that was well observed in the architecture of this region many years ago.

Our Approach...
A thoughtful and challenging subject, particularly in sensitive urban contexts like this project. Our new approach addresses the behavior of technology with a sensitive building in a sensitive fabric, predicting how it will align with the essence (the universe) and appearance (the building's form).

Technology...
Here, artificial intelligence helps us achieve high efficiency in the project with less labor and space than usual, offering a suitable solution for space scarcity. The integration of AI with this building has transformed a greenhouse and plant workshop into a unique work and living space. Smart tools, such as AI displays that change color or shape in response to various stimuli, are also present.

Artificial Intelligence...
The futuristic and realistic machine systems and technology used for analyzing the health and needs of plants are included in these devices. This not only enhances the operations and growth of this family business but also provides valuable learning experiences for the next generation in this field. As an advanced scientific center in plant research, this project has the potential to attract a wide range of individuals. Given the building’s corridor-like nature, a new perspective opened up regarding students and the project. Students help update the system, and the building helps students gain new experiences.

Inside the Creation...
The flexible design of interior spaces can provide a new and exciting experience for users. Stairs and walls, as the most fundamental space-limiting elements, with their mobility, can offer residents decision-making capabilities.

Technical information

Temperature and Water Regulation Device
This device, by moving horizontally, can adequately maintain each level of the terraces and perform the necessary tasks at the appropriate time. Each hour can be individually set to determine which unit and which part needs attention, such as feeding or other maintenance.

Awnings
The awnings are made of semi-opaque material and have the ability to detect the amount of light exposure at different times of day and night. Additionally, they protect against harmful weather conditions such as unsuitable winds and pollutants that can damage plants.

Single Element Awning
This element can open and close horizontally. The advantage of this compared to a vertical orientation is its dual functionality, allowing it to act both as an awning and as a louver. This is in contrast to foldable horizontal awnings, which only function as louvers and have relatively lower efficiency.

Monitoring Cameras
These cameras can use artificial intelligence to examine the performance of each plant individually and gather various data at different times. This reduces the system's error margin to the minimum. Although mechanical elements are separate from the project's architecture, here we are obliged to define the performance of the system within the project.

Entrance Space
This space, functioning as a multipurpose area, ensures the round-the-clock activity of the complex. Additionally, it enhances social interactions, which can bring people together for both automatic and traditional shopping. It includes elements such as a connecting bridge between the building and the basement, with measures in place to prevent potential dangers. The shape of the space is constantly changing and demonstrates various functions.

Rooftop Robot
As a predefined system, we need a device capable of connecting to all parts of the system. Here, we have equipped a device for necessary vertical communications and movements. It can deliver a package like a post to the customer, act as an ambulance to bring it to the rooftop greenhouse for human intervention, or take it on an educational tour in the basement like a bus.
