Project idea

The project involves the restoration of the ruins of the city baths of Vyshny Volochok and the creation of a new community center that preserves the architectural heritage and revives its function. An important element of the project is the outdoor swimming pool, the uniqueness of which is created thanks to the ruin of the facade wall of the historic building.
The external load-bearing walls of the building have been replaced with beams with a double glazing device consisting of layers of transparent and frosted glass. The contrast between the ruins and the new architecture allows you to feel the difference between the epochs and find yourself at the “junction” of the past and the modern.

Project description

The project involves the restoration of the ruins of the city baths of Vyshny Volochok and the creation of a new
community center, which not only preserves the architectural heritage of the historical building, but also revives its function. One of the important elements of the project is an outdoor swimming pool, the uniqueness of which is created thanks to the ruin of the facade wall of the historic building. The wall is in the water and people swim through the front windows. The historical pipe also becomes a special element of the project, it houses a font.

Technical information

The contrast between the ruins and the new architecture allows you to feel the difference between the epochs and
find yourself at the "junction" of the past and
the modern. The external load-bearing walls of the building have been replaced with beams with a double glazing device consisting of layers of transparent and frosted glass. This ensures privacy with full openness and natural light throughout the building.
