Project idea

The design is made based on climatic conditions, views and other things in the environment around the place. This house is designed to be lived in by a family of five, namely, father, mother, grandmother and two adult daughters. So, the design of this house carries a tropical, environmentally friendly theme with a modern touch that is also elderly friendly. That way, this house is comfortable for a family who is about to retire. Comfort is created from the architectural design of the house which only has one floor and avoids a lot of floor leveling to maintain the safety of the elderly. Apart from that, this house was designed with an open plan concept where there are lots of openings in each room, so that it looks spacious and you can also monitor each room. There is a small garden near the living room to increase the greenery in the house area, and there is also a fish pond in the middle of the house which can be enjoyed by users in the bedroom, living room and dining room areas.

Project description

The design of this residence has an open plan concept, where there are many window openings and glass doors, the room does not have many partitions/barriers created in the area of ​​the house. The tropical modern design using an open floor plan that having a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.

This house only has one floor, with a room layout created by grouping service, private and semi-private areas such as the living room. When we enter through the main door, we are immediately presented with a living room which has a high ceiling of seven meters. The living room is adjacent to the family room which is only limited by bookshelves in between. The family room area to the left is grandmother's bedroom, bathroom and small garden. To the right of the family room there is a service area which can be accessed from the garage door and family room. This room has a laundry room, kitchen and dining area.

In the middle of the house there is a fish pond which sweetens this house. This fish pond area is also a transition area for the children's bedroom and the main bedroom which has a concept like in villas, with a large back garden.

The lighting in this house tries to use natural light with a touch of artificial light for aesthetic purposes in the room. There are ceiling and wall treatments that use wood as the base to give a tropical and modern interior impression.

Technical information

The project is located on Kota Baru Parahyangan residential house, Indonesia. Technically, this house is made with large windows and doors to maximize air circulation around it. Plus a fish pond which balances this modern tropical residence.
