1. SUBJECT & PLACE OF THE PROJECT:
The project subject is designing an automobile museum in Nicosia. An automobile museum is a museum that explores
the history of automotive related transportation.
1.3 MAIN OBJECTIVES:
To contribute to the advancement of knowledge in science and technology in the automobile sector.
To cater the needs of the common public/mass who want to participate in automobile field but individuals actually
cannot because of less awareness and lack of opportunities.
To provide a platform for social, economic and professional development.
To enhance the development into the automobile sector by promoting and exhibiting.
To study the different aspects of site planning.
To explore various forms of built spaces dealing with the visitor’s emotional state of mind.
To explore various display techniques in museums and museum space creating.
To explore various built forms by using hi-tech materials and techniques.
To study proportional and incorporate it in the design.
To analyze various activities dealing with positive interaction amongst the visitors.
GOAL OF THE PROJECT
The Nicosia Automobile Museum will be a combination of personal cultivation, culture and entertainment. It will be a vibrant and functionally versatile meeting place.
Project description
THIS PROJECT CONTAINS OF ENTRANCE ZONE, EXHIBITION AREAS, ATELIERS FOR PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF CLASIC CARS , COMMUNICATION - EDUCATION UNITS, RESTING PLACES AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, ADMINISTRATION, TECHNICAL SERVICES AND PARKING AND OPEN AND SEMI OPEN SPACES TOTAL CLOSED FUNCTION AREA IS 10095 m2
Technical information
I used space frame structure because its often used in large spaces and it provides a high degree of structural stability and support while also allowing for large, open spaces.
