Project idea

This central location in the city plan is between the central park and the building. It was planned to serve as the center of the commercial area, create a circulation path between the buildings and the park, and become a fashion hub.

Project description

In response to a request to design an office in the center of a commercial complex in Sejong City, we designed an office for fashion. The office forms a pathway and space that receives the flow of people from the plaza in front and the surrounding offices. The pathway, which connects the interior and exterior to the basement level, also leads to the exhibition space inside, providing users with various experiences of fashion.

My site is centrally located within the city plan.
It faces the central plaza and has good connectivity to the fields above and below. However, the area behind it, Area 5, is surrounded by a road and is cut off from the surrounding fields, making it less accessible.
By extending the public nature of the plaza to area 5, we aimed to strengthen the connectivity of all the adjoining lands.
the public nature of the plaza to this area, while strengthening the connectivity. The curved exterior walls of the lower level are finished in wood and show the dynamic movement of the wood. A loop running along the giant circular wall connects to other area and extends the movement to the exhibition space inside.
This ground level acts as a central space that draws people in and out in all directions.

The two exhibition spaces have different character. One is illuminated by skylights in the ceiling, creating a bright public space.
and the other is blocked from the light and appears as a space focused solely on the exhibition.

The first space serves as a passing pathway, shelter, etc.
The second is a space that focuses solely on the exhibition.

The lower level space is used to showcase experimental results and works related to fashion, or to archive the brand's philosophy and history.
and archive the brand's philosophy and history.
