Project idea

Flexibility is a key characteristic that can improve the adaptability of housing to the changing needs of residents and to the demands of urban development.
In this seminar paper, the readers will be better acquainted with the concept of flexible housing, but they will be informed in detail about our ECO-UNITY-Village project.
Flexible housing
In the ever-evolving landscape of urban development, cities face a variety of challenges that require rapid and innovative solutions, ranging from the critical issue of affordable housing to the urgent need for efficient and decongested infrastructure and sustainable energy practices. As the demands of the built environment expand, local authorities around the world are redefining policies and regulations to shape their cities. These innovative regulations can drive sustainable and sustainable progress as cities stand at the intersection between their current challenges and future aspirations.
CONCEPT
The concept of the sustainable village is directly related to the placement of the idea in the location. On the north side of the location is the part of the museum where this area is separated from our plot only by a river. And we wanted the movement of visitors from the museum not to be interrupted but to continue with our object as a connecting bridge that creates a botanical journey and moves to the other side of the mountain. The axis of our concept is the creation of a comfortable ecological environment for the residents of the "ecological village". We have achieved this by creating common areas, green spaces, and usable green roofs.

Project description

Site
Our sustainable ECO-UNITY village consists of 7 blocks connected to each other by a common, green roof. Together these blocks create an atrium-shaped interior area from which all residents access the their housing units. And all visitors can share moments in the common spaces realized on the floors of the blocks, and pass over the green peak that defines and connects the Eco-unity village. Access by car is from the western side of the plot the two ramps that take you to the two shared basements.

Ground floor
The ground floor is entirely dedicated to common contents, relaxation areas, co-working areas, areas dedicated to children, the elderly, green markets, various shops, pharmacies, ambulances, dynamic spaces that can be used for different purposes in different times, areas where the community they gather and cook and dine together. The ground floor has flow from block to block and is open to the environment and the external landscape. Distanced from the aspect of fluidity are only the vertical axes where the privacy of the residents is preserved.

Basement
Access to the basement is from the western side of the plot. There are two ramps that lead to the basement where the seven blocks have access to their respective verticals. In the basement, we have placed numerous warehouses for residents, substation, heating and other technical alcoves.

Characteristic floor
The housing units are of the type of housing with sections, where two units have a common communication. The residential units are completely flexible where within the 4.5m by 4.5m modules can be accommodated different functions depending on the need. The only static functions are the kitchen and bathroom where both use the same installation wall. At the core part is the gallery space. The logs are also inside the module.

Technical information

Construction
On the functional side, we wanted our residential facility to be completely flexible where through
mode, we have devised areas that can be used for different functions at different times. Our modules are 4.5m by 4.5m where these modules are suitable for sleeping area, dining area, day stay, work space. We have conceived the pillars to be in the "+" shape, which is therefore related to Mies' "flowing" housing concept, where all the walls are easy to open.
The scaling of the residential blocks can also be observed, as well as the part of the roof that can be used, which gradually reaches the maximum target. In this cut, the amount of soil that has been given to the vegetation of the green roof can be seen.

Facade
The facades that we have used are entirely made of wood. The simplicity of the use of wood permeates all facades. The part of the post and beam goes out to the facade, creating a modularity in the facade as well as in the base. Logs also break the rhythm of wooden modules. Glazing also plays an important role in facades.
