Project idea

VDNKH is the main exhibition of the country, a collection of the most interesting things in Russia, as well as the main educational, entertainment, cultural,
museum and recreational complex.
The projected territory is dedicated to the fairy tales of Russian writers, into which the visitor is immersed through art objects. Here you can get into the fairy tale "The Wizard of Oz", find yourself in the Kingdom of crooked mirrors, walk across the foggy bridge from the fairy tale "Hedgehog in the Fog" and meet the Twelve Months.

Project description

At the entrance, visitors are greeted by an art object dedicated to the fairy tale "The Wizard of Oz", which goes deep into the park. Guests enter the public area, which is the Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors. Here they can see themselves in the reflection of curved mirrors and relax on benches, sheltering under a canopy from the heat and rain. Nearby there are many necessary services: a playground, a toilet and a shopping pavilion where you can have a snack at cozy tables. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a fairy tale by walking along floating paths in the fog above the dam. When the construction of the walking path rises above the lowlands, sliding between the trunks of trees, visitors feel a moment of weightlessness and lightness, this is also achieved due to almost invisible fences. There is a soft lift for people with disabilities, as well as when designing the entire path, attention is paid to creating a technologically accessible environment that allows people with disabilities to lead an independent lifestyle. The walking route is poetic and diverse. It is perfect for conversations and reflections. The installation of new dominates on the projected territory in the form of observation towers made it possible to reveal new views of adjacent territories. The result of a fabulous journey is a meeting with Twelve months, which are presented in the form of pillars made of different wood materials. In the center, a searchlight is an imitation of a bonfire. Visitors can leave the park after visiting any fairy tales on the nearest of the four exits.

Technical information

In order to preserve the general concept of the adjacent territories, the fishing village and the farm, natural materials were chosen in order to restore people's sense of harmony with the forest and nature. This project at VDNKH will help citizens immerse themselves in childhood and plunge into a fairy tale
