Project idea

The café gallery was conceptually designed with the key idea of ensuring accessibility for all individuals. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of physical ability, can comfortably enjoy the space.
The design emphasizes open and free-flowing spaces, creating an inviting and barrier-free environment. Wide entrances, ramps, and strategically placed seating areas allow for easy navigation and movement throughout the café. The gallery area features adjustable displays and tactile elements to engage all visitors, including those with visual impairments.

Natural light floods the interior through large windows, enhancing the open feel and connecting the indoor space with the outdoor surroundings. The use of local materials, such as wood and stone, adds warmth and character to the design, creating a cozy yet modern atmosphere.Outdoor seating areas and garden spaces extend the café's ambiance, providing additional accessible areas for patrons to relax and socialize. These spaces are seamlessly integrated with the interior, offering a cohesive and harmonious experience.

Overall, the café gallery stands as a testament to thoughtful design, where accessibility and openness are at the forefront, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Project description

Through this exercise, the goal is to understand the management of a structure when designing using the 9-square grid. Additionally, various types of organizing principles are explored, along with an initial concept for facade design using louvers and screen walls that interact with the grid. The grid is modified and encoded to achieve the desired result and establish the initial design concept.

Technical information

In terms of technical information, concrete and wood elements were primarily used to create both warm and cool spaces. The use of wood brings warmth and a cozy atmosphere to certain areas, inviting visitors to relax and linger. In contrast, concrete elements contribute to a cooler, more minimalist aesthetic, providing a modern backdrop that enhances the focus on the displayed art. This deliberate contrast in materials not only adds visual interest but also ensures that the environment complements and highlights the artistic works featured in the gallery
