Technical information

The Jeddah Media Production Hub is constructed using concrete materials, with facades displaying media screens that reflect historical sites of Saudi Arabia such as the Red Sea, Al Balad, and Al-Ula. This design creates a mixed reality that combines the real world with virtual elements, highlighting the impact of media on our lives. The building features four structural systems: a space truss overhead roof, a waffle slab for offices and a café to enhance natural lighting and ventilation, a rigid-framed structure for the studio/theater area, and a flat plate drop panel for the educational area.

The project includes a courtyard within the office and café zones to further improve ventilation and natural lighting. Low-E glass is used to enhance the insulating properties of the glass by reflecting infrared energy and reducing heat transfer. This type of glass helps protect interior spaces from solar heat gain while maintaining natural daylight by minimizing UV radiation transmission. Additionally, the design incorporates a perforated pattern in the roof for the ventilation of the AC system.

The building uses a packaged AC system, which is installed on the roof.
