Project idea

An energy village is an extensive urban planning structure able to connect to the fabric of the city and revitalize it. The core of the energy village is the waste sorting center, which collects the city´s garbage and turns it into new raw materials for creativity. Wind turbines on the roof of the complex provide clean electricity for the operation of the center and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Garages 2.0 are the main urban planning unit of the energy village structure. They inherited the shape and proportions of the Soviet-era garages located on the site. At the same time, the internal functional content has been significantly expanded and rethought to create a sustainable, wellscalable and multifunctional «dacha» environment for residents and tourists.

Project description

The main component of the project is the garages that are arranged in a chain across the site. These garages set the structure and landmarks that form the overall form. Between these chains of garages are terraces, vegetable gardens, small patios, sports fields and stages. There are pedestrian paths along the roofs of the garages and a carriage railway leading to the core of the area - the recycling plant. In addition, the man-made canals play a significant role in the functionality of the site, which in turn link the entire energy village structure

Technical information

Garages are designed according to drawings developed back in the USSR, but the material of execution can change and become unexpected. Terraces vegetable gardens become a natural extension of the landscape. Railroads and trails run along the roofs of garages, and in some places are installed on supports. The plant has an exploitable roof that provides parks and skateboarding areas. Within the building itself are multiple bridges that allow for observation of the processes and are a link between the two sides.
