Project idea

Exactly in these places there is a part of the belt of the Prague walls, in which I am proposing a new urban development. The walls form a significant barrier to this area, which was the starting point for my proposal. I am trying to turn the barrier into "seams".
Either by building houses on all the bastions and between the curtains, but mainly by creating a new public space between the bastions. One of the reasons for the barrier of the ramparts is the height difference. I'm compensating for this both with the tower houses between the walls and
stairs between the houses and the bastion walls. I build low-rise terraced houses or four-storey apartment buildings on the bastions. In contrast, the tower houses by the courtyards create a contrast. They are 6 storeys high from the higher level of the bastions.

Project description

The whole principle forms a kind of beads. A repetitive rhythm that can be seen from any point of the walls and thus enhances the presence of these walls wherever you are in the surroundings. The buildings on the bastions that follow their shape are
enhances them, as do the tower houses between the bastions in contrast to them.
Parking is designed from the lower level of the walls. The ramps take us up to the upper level of the ramparts and this again compensates for the height difference, without the need to dig deep for underground parking. The other parking is under the bastions, where
is accessed via the courtyards.
The terraced and low-rise houses on the bastions form a quiet, semi-enclosed area reminiscent of garden cities full of peace and greenery. There is no road leading directly to them from above. These houses are mainly served from the lower
level connected by road cores. In contrast, tower blocks are directly connected to the urban road and their ground floor is enlivened by commerce.
I have retained the existing houses on and below the bastions and use them as civic amenity space for the newly built apartment blocks

Technical information

The whole system works on the basis of overcoming height differences. The new apartments would have their garages inside the original bastion structure. Subsequently, this construction would be built on top of the original one.
