Project idea

Each of the living is obliged to contribute to the preservation of the memory of the victims of wars. The perpetuation of memory is aimed at forming a respectful attitude towards the events of the past, preserving memory in the historical consciousness of people.

The main forms of perpetuating the memory of the dead, survivors, injured and missing are the creation, preservation and improvement of historical sites, the installation of monuments and commemorative signs, and the collection of information.

There are historical events that will never be erased in the memory of the people. Such an important event in history is and Schindler’s Ark.

Project description

The reconstruction project of the historic building was carried out using the latest approaches to restoration.

This is a modern museum that promotes interaction with the history of those years. The work took into account archival materials, 110,000 hours of testimony from Schindler’s Jews and survivors of the genocide from World War II to the present day, as well as Steven Spielberg’s film «Schindler’s List».

Technical information

The concept implies a community center that can be used to show films, seminars and events with the participation of the local community.

The emphasis is on glass, which acts as a kind of protection, a stained glass window of history. The main function is to protect what is under it from exposure.

Textiles play an important role in the materiality of the museum, to separate the museum’s exhibition spaces. It is important to take into account the latest approaches to interaction with museums.
