The project's foundation is a meticulous restoration and conservation effort, ensuring the preservation of the original site's authenticity and historical significance. By safeguarding the factory's architectural integrity, the project will create a tangible link to the past, allowing visitors to connect with the stories and emotions embedded within the very walls.

A Museum of Darkness and Light
Within the museum, an evocative journey awaits. Designed to evoke the darkness and uncertainty that permeated the lives of those affected by the Holocaust, the museum's interior spaces will guide visitors through a series of dimly lit halls. Intimate booths, each featuring looped testimonials from Holocaust survivors, will provide a poignant and personal connection to the human stories of resilience and loss.
A Terrace of Rebirth
One door within the museum will lead to an unexpected oasis – a terrace bathed in natural light, adorned with lush greenery and offering a serene view of the surroundings. This transformative space represents the unwavering spirit of those who, like Oskar Schindler, risked everything to rescue others from the clutches of oppression. The terrace symbolizes the triumph of compassion and the enduring power of the human spirit.
A Cinematic Tribute
On the top floor, a small theater will provide a space for reflection and education. Visitors will have the opportunity to view a curated selection of movies and documentaries that delve deeper into the history of the Holocaust, including the iconic film Schindler's List. This cinematic component will enhance the museum's educational impact and foster a greater understanding of this pivotal moment in history.
The ceiling will have different colored cloths, bringing color into the theater. The cloths will be sprinkled with the Star of David, a symbol of the Jewish people. This will add a sense of vibrancy to the otherwise dark space.

In the heart of the Schindler's Ark project, a testament to resilience and community emerges: the assisted living facility. This innovative structure, a hexagonal spiral that gracefully ascends around a central courtyard, pays homage to the Star of David, symbolizing the unyielding spirit of the Jewish people during times of adversity.

Technical information

The design prioritizes connection and accessibility. Two elevators discreetly service the six apartments on each side of the hexagon, while gentle ramps replace traditional stairs, ensuring seamless movement for residents of all abilities. Expansive glass windows, stretching from floor to ceiling, flood the interior with natural light, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere.
The central courtyard serves as a vibrant communal hub. A tensile fabric structure provides a shaded gathering space, fostering a sense of togetherness and encouraging social interaction among residents. This adaptable space will host a variety of activities, from leisurely chats to lively bingo games, celebrating the site's historical connection to the textile industry.
Each residential unit comprises a thoughtfully designed duplex pair, offering residents privacy and comfort. Each apartment features a spacious living area, a well-appointed bathroom, and a tranquil bedroom. A small terrace extends the living space outdoors, providing residents with a personal sanctuary to enjoy fresh air and views of the surrounding landscape.
