Project idea

The project is a complex consisting of two public buildings: a kindergarten and a children’s leisure center. Public buildings are connected by a bridge. The complex was designed for the city of Murmansk, located in the Far North.

Project description

A small kindergarten with 100 places using the Montessori system. The system is based on the ideas of free education. An important place in it is given to sensory education through activities and a specially organized environment. Basic principles: child independence, freedom within established boundaries, natural development.

Technical information

The building was designed according to the climatic characteristics of the area. The design of the facades uses natural materials with color accents that serve as reference points for children. In the kindergarten, two-story group cells were designed to provide a large volume of air and space for children to move freely within the cell.
