Project idea

Urban densification in the modern era has traditionally looked like a bustling and fast-paced city. People often forget to breathe and stay calm. This is the classic image of urbanization. PALANGGA is a concept utilized to design a bathroom that heals its users with colors and a Biophilic approach to connect us with our natural environment. Converging a multi-functional design, nature, and tangible aspects that we use in our daily lives impacts the experience within the structure. Multi-generational bath design is a strong and current design when it comes to high-mass housing. This design is thoughtfully created to cater to and address the varying needs of all people, regardless of height, age, and mobility. It is the place they can love and call home.

Project description

In this design, proper ventilation and natural light are significant to lessen the energy consumption within the structure. The reason why I decided to use large windows. With this window, the users can see the outside to connect themselves with nature and create a sense of spaciousness from within. Winder blinds are also installed to give privacy to users.
The shower area is separated by a tempered glass sliding door to prevent dampness in the dry space, which is the toilet and basin area.

Multi-generational users living in high-mass housing need a multi-use space and should balance ergonomics, safety, and convenience within the structure for the goodness of the users.

The design use the maximum space area requirement of 7 sq. meters to produce the best quality of the circulation within the bathroom.

Considered in this plan were the height and measurement standards of the user’s profile which are composed of different ages (5 yrs. to 70 years old).
