Project idea

The aim of the thesis is to develop an architectural study of a progressive "residential hybrid" with corresponding public and semi-public spaces, to design a high-quality and original residential environment that contributes to the revitalization of the given area. It is expected that the proposal will address the urgent demands of urban life and create an original offer for contemporary lifestyle.

Project description

Parasitic modular architecture represents an innovative approach to urban planning planning that uses and adds to existing structures and spaces modular units to increase their functionality and efficiency. The biggest challenge was addressed area under the Lanfranconi bridge in the capital of Slovakia. Based on of broader relationships, one can clearly see the problems and limits of this location, where it is your greatest limit
the very location of the treated area with the bridge above it. However, this limit is necessary also perceive positively, because it can offer us a completely different perspective in architecture creation than we are used to. The design concept consists in modularity, specifically in use and recycling discarded shipping containers that are transformed into residential, office, business and social spaces. This concept is based on sustainable housing system.

Technical information

The design solution is based on the "module in module" system, where it is for container module designed steel structure made of steel I profiles and z
yoke profiles. The structure was custom designed for 2 container modules
after the recommendation of a structural engineer. This system will ensure greater structural and spatial stability variability.
