Project idea

The Eco Lodge project embodies a vision of sustainable luxury, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Hawassa. This project seeks to harmonize architecture with nature, promoting environmental stewardship through innovative design and sustainable practices.

Project description

The Eco Lodge at Lake Hawassa is a visionary project designed to offer luxurious yet sustainable accommodations on the picturesque shores of Lake Hawassa. This lodge will feature various accommodation options, including VIP bungalows, all constructed using natural materials like wood, stone, and clay. Emphasizing circular forms and passive climate design, the buildings will blend seamlessly with the sloping hills and natural landscape, minimizing their visual and environmental impact. The design aims to create a harmonious environment that reflects unity and sustainability while providing a comfortable and energy-efficient stay for guests.

Technical information

The Eco Lodge at Lake Hawassa is a testament to sustainable architecture, utilizing a variety of natural and locally sourced materials. The primary materials used in construction include bamboo, wood, stone, clay, and locally sourced pumice. Bamboo and wood provide a warm, organic feel and excellent structural properties, while stone and clay add durability and a natural aesthetic. Pumice, sourced from the local area, is used for its lightweight and insulating properties. These materials are chosen not only for their environmental benefits but also for their ability to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a harmonious and sustainable retreat.
