Project idea

Schindler's List is a well-known film. By understanding the whole event through movies and history, we use our language "space" to tell everyone about the impact of war on people, hoping that the experience of transferring space, the understanding of multi-functional film space, and the feeling of artist space can help us understand the nature of war and the greatness of Schindler and others.

Project description

We roughly divide the building into three parts. The first part is the historical area (Building 2), which we take as the beginning of the event. People learn about the whole period of European history and the major events that happened during this period through the rise of the spiral walk. It can also serve as a meeting place for nearby residents. The second part is the experience area (Building 1). We divide Building 1 into two parts. The first part is the spatial translation, where we extract and evolve the elements from the movie to obtain usable architectural elements, so that people can have real feelings instead of just seeing from the movie. We transformed the eastern area into an exhibition area for the artists mentioned, and the testimony map exists as architectural elements, interior elements, and landscape elements in multiple scenes of the building

Technical information

We retain most of the structure, we think that the existence of the building itself is the proof of history, reinforced with concrete and steel, concrete for us symbolizes the heaviness of this history, while steel changes with time, it will rust, but it will not disappear, just like a history, it may go by with time or even be forgotten, but it is there. Some glass cabinets are also used as souvenirs for display.
