Project idea

According to World Life Expectancy's data, Alzheimer's Disease in Indonesia keeps on increasing and has become the Top 10 Leading cause of death. Still considered Taboo in an Asian family culture, placing elderly to a nursing home is against the fundamental principle.
Therefore, the aim of this project is to encourage family members in Indonesia that has the Alzheimer’s disease together as a family without breaking the filial piety culture that has been stopping them to bring their loved ones to a nursing home.

Project description

An Alzheimer's Care Centre that Promotes Healing Through Horticulture for Early Onset Patients and Families Designed Under Neuroplasticity, in Indonesia.

Technical information

The location of this project is in North Maluku, Indonesia, which still has the traditional housing style in the architecture since it was a Regional People's Representative Council. The site size is approximately 6000 square meters.

For the sustainability feature of the Indoor Conservatories, From the hot humid air from Bloomscape conservatory, it will produce a horticulture waste, then the waste fuels the biomass powered plants to generate heat and electricity for the chillers. Then it will be generated by the chilled water pipes in the floor slabs. And will be generated by the Displacement Cooling system inside the Blossom Haven Conservatory
