Project idea

Humans in the area along the Cho Dem canal in the south of Ho Chi Minh City are suffering when facing heavy environmental pollution here. The issue of pollution in the Cho Dem canal is our concern in this project.

Since the early years of the 20th century, trading activities from the Binh Dien wholesale market and people's daily activities have released large amounts of waste into water sources without treatment. The canal gradually lost its cleaning ability and became increasingly exhausted along with accompanying problems leading to the current terrible situation: The canal, landscape, and land are being polluted, stinking... are being polluted by waste. Poorly habitat and living conditions of Cho Dem residents: temporary, smelly houses. Aquatic animals do not have a reasonable environment to live, causing loss of biodiversity. There is no market living space. Land is abandoned, hindering people's development and urbanization. Community connections are dying: lack of public space. Fallow hinders local economic development.

Based on this concern, we propose a plan to solve the existing difficulties from the problem of core waste discharge and find a way out of the cycle of development and destruction by recognizing the potentials and opportunities to explore. for the human community and environment here and in similar areas.
