Project idea

This project aims to repair, update, and develop the Majapahit Information Storage building in Trowulan, Mojokerto into a historical tourist destination that can be enjoyed by visitors of all backgrounds. The idea is to renovate the building, hoping to provide a more appropriate and better facility for preserving these important historical artifacts. Additionally, this renovation also aims to attract more visitors to the museum, especially young people, thereby enhancing public knowledge and appreciation of Majapahit's rich history.

Project description

This project focuses solely on interior renovation without altering the exterior facade or building structure. The work includes optimizing circulation, space allocation, and designing all elements of the floors, walls, and ceilings. All tasks are performed according to the brief and requirements provided by the client. In this project, spaces are divided to meet the client's needs and requests, such as the lobby & reception area, guest room, storage & research area, staff offices, and the exhibition area itself, along with the service areas needed.

Technical information

The building's exterior and structural construction utilize existing materials, with walls made of typical brickwork. For the interior work, a variety of materials are used. Firstly, the majority of the walls are covered with Mirage Elysian series porcelain slabs, with certain areas enhanced by WPC wall panels. In the lobby area, there is also one side of the wall is clad by MDF wall panels. In the exhibition area, the walls are simply painted black. The majority of the flooring material is dark gray clear concrete, while the exhibition area features wood vinyl flooring. Lastly, the ceiling is constructed from easily moldable gypsum board.
