Technical information

Shutki Bazaar is a well-known market in South Asia. Bangladesh has many small and big shutki markets in the coastal area and shutki has long been valued as a traditional dish of the country.
I designed a market in Sayedpur's Shutki Aarat which is well known as the 2nd largest dry market in the country.
This market is designed to be divided into 4 levels:
1. Loading-unloading
2. Retail market
3. Wholesale market
4. Community space
This market is located on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway. It is designed as a market on the ground floor and storage and office rooms above. Important aspects of the dry market such as - smell control, circulation, courtyard, and loading and unloading aspects have been given importance in this design. Apart from this, there are arrangements for the accommodation of traders and shopkeepers coming from far away. Along with the market, interaction space has been created to create a meeting place.
