Project idea

Creating a hospital design that carries the concept of inclusive design and creates a pleasant and calming atmosphere into the building by incorporating natural elements into the building, the concept aims to create a conducive and efficient environment that can restore and improve physical and psychological conditions.

Project description

The ribbon shape of the Green Ribbon symbol is implemented in the design of this space. The interpretation of the ribbon shape through curves in the room layout facilitates and smoothens user circulation, creating a comfortable and safe atmosphere.

Curved shapes are also applied to the furniture, not only for aesthetics, but also for patient safety. This minimizes the potential for injury for those who may experience self-harm tendencies.

The design shows a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of individuals with mental health issues. Symbolism and functionality are harmoniously intertwined, creating a space that supports recovery and mental well-being.

The use of natural materials, soft color palettes, and air fresheners can enhance the calm atmosphere. Other multisensory elements, such as white noise and finely angled furniture, promote a sense of security and comfort for patients. Providing healthy food and drinks also supports their overall mental health.
Provide flexible design:
Provides easy access for all people with special needs. implementation on design is The use of ramps as vertical circulation paths to facilitate patients who use assistive devices to move, applying signage that can be accessed by everyone, applying tactile floors to facilitate wayfinding.

Technical information

The concept on the exterior uses cultural elements such as kawung batik motifs and also typical Yogyakarta ornamental motifs, this is done based on the Governor's Regulation of Yogyakarta Special Region. The application of secondary skin on the building serves to block excessive sunlight in the afternoon. Then for the interior using tiles with matt texture and using different tiles to distinguish the division of space in open areas such as terazzo, granite tile, and parquete wood medium light.
