Project idea

Healing With Architecture - Architecture Not Only for Rich.

Our architectural proposal for the rural health center in Taroudant, Morocco, is rooted in a profound commitment to social inclusivity and accessibility. Set amidst the rustic charm of rural Morocco, our design ethos is centered around the belief that architecture is a fundamental human right, not a luxury reserved solely for the affluent. By prioritizing functionality, sustainability, and community engagement, we aim to challenge conventional notions of architectural exclusivity.

Project description

Located in a rural area, our design concept focuses on utilizing local materials, harnessing the natural interplay of sunlight and shadows, and integrating indigenous vegetation. By seamlessly blending these elements, we aim to create a therapeutic environment that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Our design leverages local materials, embraces vernacular architecture, and incorporates innovative solutions to ensure that the center serves the needs of the local population, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through this project, we seek to demonstrate that architecture can be a powerful force for social change, empowering underserved communities and proving that impactful design transcends socioeconomic barriers.

Technical information

The project faces several constraints, including the small size of the site and existing constructions within it. Furthermore, strict adherence to Morocco's health standards and regulations is crucial, resulting in restrictions such as a maximum project height of 5 meters and specific program requirements to be met.
