Project idea

The task of transforming an existing styrofoam factory into a textile clothing manufacturing plant involved a comprehensive approach to reusing the space to meet the specific requirements of the new industry. Our concept focuses on seamlessly integrating the functionality of a textile factory within the existing architecture of the Styrofoam facility. Embracing the industrial aesthetic of the original structure, the design concept aims to create a harmonious blend of old and new. Maintaining the architectural integrity of the styrofoam factory, the design concept emphasizes the preservation of key structural elements while reusing them to suit the needs of a textile manufacturing environment. Based on the sustainable ethos of the textile industry, the design concept will integrate environmentally friendly practices and materials into the existing framework of the factory. The concept aims to celebrate the sustainable beauty of industrial architecture while embracing the functionality and charm of textile production. Combining the durability of the original structure with the refinement of textile production, the concept design aims to create a space that exudes timeless elegance, innovation and a seamless fusion of past and present.

Project description

The existing factory structure has been thoughtfully re-adapted to meet the demands of textile production. Significant changes have been made to the facade, incorporating modern aluminum panels that enhance the building’s aesthetic and functional performance. Inside, the layout has been reconfigured to optimize the production workflow, ensuring efficiency and safety. This transformation retains the integrity of the original structure while updating it to meet contemporary standards and requirements. The heart of the re-adapted factory is the atrium located in the new administration building. This atrium serves as a dynamic and inviting space, filled with natural light and lush greenery, creating a calm and inspiring environment for employees and visitors alike. The design emphasizes openness and connectivity, fostering interaction and collaboration among staff. The greenery not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes a sense of well-being and sustainability, aligning with modern eco-friendly principles. The administration building features expansive open floor plans designed to be flexible and multifunctional. Adjacent to the open workspaces, the building houses a sophisticated showroom dedicated to displaying the latest textile products. This showroom is designed to be a stylish, adaptable space that can effortlessly transform to showcase different collections and product lines, providing a versatile environment for client presentations and internal reviews. On the upper floor, a modern restaurant offers a serene retreat for both employees and guests. With panoramic views of the city and a thoughtfully curated menu, the restaurant provides a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. It serves as an ideal venue for informal meetings, social gatherings, and corporate events, enhancing the overall workplace experience. The administration building also boasts a dedicated space for conceptual runways, where new products and collections can be unveiled in a dramatic and engaging manner. This area is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems to support high-quality fashion shows and presentations. The runway space underscores the company's commitment to innovation and creativity, providing a platform to celebrate and showcase design excellence.
