In our rapidly changing world, social norms, values and perceptions of reality are constantly evolving. During our lives, each of us is faced with several models of the world that determine our thinking, behavior and the way we interact with the surroundings.
The architectural project is named after “obo”, an ancient sanctuary and the residence of masters of the area among shamans. This is a place where spirits are to be worshiped. Most often found in the form of a pyramidal pile of stones.
Each person passing by throws a new stone into this pile, thereby gradually growing the hill. In the same way, the house will be filled with thoughts and ideas with each new guest.
«Obo» is a space for rethinking the model of the world, a place where people can look at the world differently, communicate with new people and self-reflect. All this is facilitated by the almost untouched land and the spirit of shamanism.
The project consists of the main house, the surrounding area and small architectural forms located on it. All these elements are interconnected and refer to shamanism. This is one of the main religions of the Irkutsk Oblast (region near Baikal lake), where the architectural project is planned to be located.
The house has a post-and-beam reinforced concrete structure, with a column spacing of 4 meters. On the ground floor there are 3 monolithic reinforced concrete walls that take the load from columns from the upper floors. The structure of the stairs is also load-bearing. The remaining walls in the house are self-supporting, made of profiled timber, thereby lightening the building's own weight and reducing the load on the foundation and floors.
