Project idea

Human existence on Earth is confronted with numerous challenges, the most significant of which is the scarcity of habitable land. This is largely due to the substantial alterations humans have made to the Earth’s landscape. Factors such as population growth and other variables contribute to or exacerbate the loss of numerous habitable spaces on the planet. Consequently, these factors place humanity in a precarious position for the future. If we do not prepare and take action in the face of these possibilities, it is likely that humanity will lose its remaining settlements.

Project description

In this project, the designers and researchers have endeavored to ensure a sustainable settlement for humanity through a project named ‘The Lifecraft’. This project is designed with two primary objectives. The first and foremost objective is to establish a secure and new habitat for humanity. The secondary objective, which follows the first, is to devise and introduce a novel lifestyle for future generations. This is achieved through the construction of mega structures, referred to as ‘bio-machines’, aimed at enhancing the quality of life. These structures represent a utopian vision for a time frame spanning 100 to 1000 years into the future.
In this context, architectural space is not confined to a static solid. This project attempts to transform architecture into the mainstream of life within its interior. The surrounding space transitions from a solid and fixed state to a variable and fluid one, with the aim of enabling the organization and modification of space as required by the user at any given time. This approach caters to both the old and new - the actual and potential needs of people.
