Proposal of the Embassy of Czech Republic in Ethiopia

Project idea

Some of the most important functions of an Embassy are the following:
- Protecting the interest of their Goverment.
- Negotiating with the Host-State Government what their own Country demands or expects.
- Promoting friendly relationships between both States to achieve mutual Cultural, Scientific and Economic growth.

Project description

Taking the aforementioned purposes into account, I propose:

Creating four independent buildings:

- The Consular and Visa Building
- The Official Embassy Building
- Ambassador Residence Building
- Residential Building of the embassy Staff

Three of this buildings will be conected with briges to promote a more organic circulation between them.

Technical information

Regarding the materiality I selected two main ones to be used in the buildings:

One of them, is concrete and glass. It represents Czech Republic, like a translucent building or a transpatent State that is willing to negotiate with Ethiopia. Also chosen to representate the most Tradicional Industries on Czech Republic, the Crystal Industry.

The second one, is a desing made of brick as the main material. It represents Ethiopia and the colour of their ground, as well as the iconic Ethiopian architecture wich is built with carving rock.
