Project idea

The idea behind this project stems from the remarkable natural phenomenon of honeycombs, which are created by bees known for their innate engineering and construction skills. The hexagonal segments of a honeycomb form a cohesive and functional organism. Inspired by this, our project aims to create a sustainable retreat that seamlessly integrates into the picturesque landscape surrounding a lake.

The primary goal of this project is to establish a hotel that offers a cyclist-friendly environment. Recognizing the growing popularity of cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation, our hotel will provide amenities and services specifically tailored to cater to the needs of cyclists. We aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages guests to explore the surrounding area on their bikes, promoting a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Moreover, the location of the hotel is strategically chosen to cater to water sports enthusiasts. The proximity to the lake offers a unique opportunity for guests to engage in various water activities, such as boating, canoeing, and water biking. By providing easy access to equipment rentals and services, we aim to create an immersive experience for water sports enthusiasts, enabling them to fully enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty of the lake.

Project description

Our project solution revolves around the concept of a floating hexagonal hotel and water sports center, combining innovative design with a focus on sustainability and guest satisfaction. This unique concept allows the hotel to seamlessly float on water, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for guests while harmonizing with the surrounding lake landscape.

The hotel is constructed using hexagonal modules, which serve as the foundation for the entire complex. These modules are cyclist-friendly, with designated pathways and storage facilities for bicycles, ensuring a convenient and enjoyable experience for cycling enthusiasts. The location of the hotel is carefully chosen to cater to water sports enthusiasts, offering easy access to a variety of water activities, including boat rentals, canoeing, and water biking.

The hotel complex is divided into two main groups: private and public modules. The private modules consist of hotel rooms, offering comfortable and stylish accommodations for guests who wish to stay for longer periods. Each private module is designed as a wooden frame structure, ensuring a lightweight construction that floats on the water's surface.

The public modules include a restaurant, where guests can enjoy delicious meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients, as well as an ice cream parlor that serves refreshing ice coffee with a scoop of cooling ice cream. Additionally, there is a shop that offers a range of products and a sports equipment service to cater to the needs of both hotel guests and visitors.

The reception area is connected to a cozy fireplace room, providing a warm and inviting space for guests to relax and socialize. The entire complex is designed to maximize the panoramic views of the lake, with open-air platforms and seating areas that allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

To ensure the safety and stability of the floating hotel, the hexagonal modules and platforms rest on concrete floats filled with styrofoam. Special containers inside the floats are dedicated to housing the toilets, maintaining hygiene and waste management standards.

This project solution not only offers a unique and memorable experience for guests but also prioritizes sustainability and environmental stewardship. The use of lightweight wooden frame structures minimizes the ecological footprint, while the floating design allows for minimal disruption to the natural ecosystem of the lake.

Technical information

The modules and platforms of the floating hexagonal hotel and water sports center have been designed to float on water while maintaining stability and security. This construction involves the use of lightweight wooden frame structures for the modules, allowing them to stay afloat on the water's surface. The wooden frames provide strength and stability while keeping the overall weight of the modules low.

For the platforms, planks are used as coverings. These planks not only enhance the visual appeal of the floating complex but also offer a durable and comfortable surface for guests to walk on. Carefully selected and treated, these plank coverings are designed to withstand moisture and environmental conditions.

To ensure the floating capability of the entire complex, concrete floats are employed. These floats are specially crafted and filled with styrofoam, providing buoyancy and support. Strategically positioned beneath the modules and platforms, these floats ensure the structure remains stable and stays afloat.

The combination of wooden frame structures, plank coverings, and concrete floats creates a dependable and secure floating system for the hexagonal hotel and water sports center. This construction approach offers guests a unique and immersive experience while prioritizing safety and stability on the water.
