Project idea

Concept
Fort of Arts is a large art cluster on the territory of Kronstadt, designed to unite creative people in one place. The main motive uniting the project is the image of the fort, which makes it possible to fit the concept into the historical context of Kronstadt. The museum and hotel complex forms the "walls" of the fort, protecting the interior from the wind of the Gulf of Finland. The interior space is designed for creative festivals. The historical image of the fort was taken as the basis for the spatial solution of the complex, since the object is located in Kronstadt. The project has created a kind of fort that protects the space from the wind from the Gulf of Finland and creates a unique ecosystem for creative people. A new creative ecosystem in the context of the identity of Kronstadt.

Project objective:
1. unite creative people to share experiences.
2. Create a space that attracts ordinary people to the study of art.
3. To draw attention to the originality of the architecture of Kronstadt.

Project description

The main objectives of the project: -Identification and preservation of the identity of Kronstadt: architectural solutions are based on local stylistics. The use of red brick and metal reinforce local identity. -Increasing the tourist attractiveness of the territory. Kronstadt is actively developing as a tourist city, new museums, parks, routes are emerging. The emergence of new infrastructure on the site of existing warehouses is an investment in the development of the city. The appearance of new functions, including the art cluster, is currently an urgent request.
Creating a unique large-scale art space in St. Petersburg. Such a space will be the center of attraction not only in Kronstadt, but also in St. Petersburg, because at the moment there are no such places for creativity in the city.

The central space has turned into a "city carpet" — an enfilade of three squares, each with its own character: the event square is a large space for active youth and open markets; the "green square" is a place to relax on the grass with a large sandbox and fountains that bring people closer to the nature of this region.

The square next to the museum is a space for artists to perform in the open air with temporary art objects.A unique paving pattern has been developed for each of the squares, recreation areas have been created, protected from the wind and sun by green hills and trees of various local breeds.

There are also paths for quiet walks around the entire complex. And opposite the museum, a clearing and paths for meditation with sound installations were created.

Technical information

The project has developed a hotel, a contemporary art center, a restaurant with an observation deck and a pavilion with a food court, a landscaping concept has been implemented. The hotel has 120 rooms. The museum center is designed for temporary exhibitions, the height of the first floor (5 meters) allows you to exhibit large sculptural objects. For the convenience of accommodating guests, a large parking lot was created, including places for tourist buses.
