Tehran is the capital of Iran which is very important and has a large population. It strikes with its beauty, culture and amazing architecture. The city was founded in The foothills of Alborz mountain . Over time This city developed but is still adhering to customs and traditions. Ironically, the location of our site is in the heart of Tehran, so it was very important for me to pay attention to the context.
This area is considered as one of the crowded regions .culturally, Laleh Park and several well-known museums around this area are significant factors which brings collective memories.
So, I decided to design a place to express this memory and praise art.
The Continuous cultural center consists of three functional Levels and is oriented in such a way that the focus of the first floor is to respond to the needs of a passerby, such as a walking space, cafe , etc.
On the ground floor, we placed cultural spaces such as an amphitheater, a veiled gallery, and a library. This organization had two main reasons, the first one was to create a quiet environment and second one was to emphasize the concept that the origin of all phenomena is culture and art, and they are actually our roots.
Formal and functional choices:
The inviting and wide entrance makes the passerby connect better with the building and fulfill our desire, that is, he enters the space.
On the other hand, Visual visibility due to the presence of the green roof, the connection with the park has not been interrupted in general, and in addition to respecting nature, a platform has been created for a better view of the park.
The central gallery, which shows itself from the very beginning with a special staircase, and acts as the beating heart of the cultural building. Life flows from its roof, and the flowing water from its pond has flowed all over the site and induces a sense of freshness.
The roof openings of the building have the role of ventilation and exposure, and maintain the connection with the outside, and users feel the passage of time. On the other hand, it is a kind of incentive for passers-by to arouse their curiosity and visit other parts as well.
In general, my effort has been to design an urban space and blend it with the city, which will help people to put aside their anxiety and enjoy themselves for a second , and not to neglect the present .
The first floor includes the following spaces: an administrative department, offices, a café and a walking pathway . The walking path connects all parts. The cafe has a separate entrance from the adjacent side of the park, and it is also the connection point between the cultural center and the urban space.
The vertical elements of the western facade are implemented to emphasize and unify the readability of the amphitheater entrance.
