Project idea

Being located in the city, this site has the potential to accommodate a mixed-use building. By creating a mixed-use building that caters to the creativity and leisure of young people, this site has the potential to become a dynamic hub that fosters innovation, collaboration, and social engagement among the youth in the city.

Project description

This two-story building offers a unique combination of spaces on each floor. On the ground floor, there is Cotton.co, a distribution center and store specializing in t-shirts and accessories. This space can serve as a hub for creative individuals, where they can explore and purchase unique apparel items.

Moving up to the top floor, you'll find the Summer Breeze Coffee Shop. This coffee shop is designed to provide a relaxing environment for people to unwind. With a balcony and an outdoor dining area, customers can enjoy the pleasant, refreshing breeze that characterizes summer. The outdoor setting allows guests to connect with nature while savoring their beverages.

The coffee shop's theme revolves around creating a delightful atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. The outdoor dining area provides a peaceful ambiance, allowing customers to appreciate the surrounding natural environment. The combination of the cool breeze, comfortable seating, and scenic views contributes to a serene and enjoyable atmosphere.

The Summer Breeze Coffee Shop provides an opportunity for customers to escape the bustling city and find tranquility in a cozy setting. It caters to individuals who seek a space to relax, socialize, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee in a unique and refreshing environment.

Overall, the building's layout effectively combines the creative and commercial aspect of Cotton.co on the ground floor with the leisurely and serene ambiance of the Summer Breeze Coffee Shop on the top floor. This mixed-use concept creates a dynamic and inviting space, offering different experiences to visitors and contributing to the vibrancy of the local community.

Technical information

The building's structure utilizes concrete construction, which provides durability and strength. To complement the concrete construction, a wooden roof construction is incorporated.

In order to establish a connection with the surrounding environment, natural accent materials are integrated into the building's design. This could include elements such as stone cladding or timber accents on the façade. These materials help the building blend harmoniously with the natural landscape, creating a sense of harmony and enhancing the overall aesthetics.

The design of the building prioritizes optimal natural lighting and ventilation. Large windows, skylights, or clerestory windows are strategically placed to allow ample daylight to enter the interior spaces, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting during the day. This not only creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere but also reduces energy consumption.

Furthermore, energy-saving measures are implemented to promote sustainability. Solar panels are installed on the roof to harness renewable energy from the sun, which can be used to power the building's electrical systems.
