Project idea

The concept of the SUPREMATISM art space is inspired by the stylistics of the Russian avant-garde and, in particular, suprematism. This idea influenced the shaping, composition and color scheme of the park. In terms of the object is a dynamic abstract composition of geometric bodies. Red and black wooden elements reflect the idea and allow you to focus on important elements of the space.

Project description

The main idea of the project is to organize a public space that will become a center for attracting and communicating creatively minded residents and guests of the city. To do this, it is proposed to arrange zones of various functions throughout the park: from exhibition spaces to open-air workshops, where visitors will be able to look at the works of artists, present their own works and even take part in their creation. There are also areas for playgrounds and quiet recreation. The paths between the zones are equipped with ramps for people with limited mobility.

Technical information

The SUPREMATISM art space, completed as part of the course work No. 3 "Space: Perception and Environment", is located in the city of Rostov-on-Don. It is bounded on the north by Coastal Street, and on the south by the bank of the Don River. This is a place with a rich history, starting with the mill of the famous merchant Paramonov. In the past, the border of the city passed here, and the first mill appeared, and now the area around the design site is represented by a mixed development, which includes both large industrial facilities and individual residential buildings. On the east side there is a multi-storey residential complex, the construction of which was completed in 2022. The project is designed for the prospects of the city's development and the creation of a new park area along the river.
Russian Rostov-on-Don Park, being an accent space in the city, continues the popular theme of appeal to the Russian avant-garde in Rostov-on-Don. The SUPREMATISM art space should become a center of attraction not only for residents of Rostov, but also for guests from other Russian cities.
