Project idea

The design of an open space modular system with the inclusion of a third place idea postulates the creation of a modular system that allows for the creation of various office spaces with recreation areas. Recent years have shown that remote working is preferred in many professions, and a modular office that allows for group and individual work and is located far from the city center can be an alternative to working from home. During the break, it is possible to use recreational spaces and a café.

Project description

The project shows the interior design of the largest variant, variant one, which involves the set of 68 modules to form the final 618.20 square metre facility. Inside, a garden inspired by a Japanese garden has been planned to avoid the effect of a huge workspace by introducing an attractive, orderly and tranquil view visible from both the recreation and work areas. In addition to the communal working areas, individual offices as well as an auditorium have been introduced.

Technical information

Wood materials were used in the design, analogously to the structure, in different colours. The ceiling is designed in pine timber in a dark colour that tones down the light supplied to the interior through the skylights. The walls are clad with whitewashed pine glulam panels for better diffusion of the light through the designed interior. Walls that are accents of the change of use have been highlighted with pine panels of the same colour as the ceiling structure. Internal openings (for windows and doors) were highlighted with black PVC panels, making it easier to clean the wall elements most likely to become dirty. The floor was designed with oak panels in different colours depending on the purpose of the room. The interior furniture is kept in a colour scheme related to the aforementioned surfaces, the black chairs stand out considerably against the floors and the dark blackout blinds help to block out the heat in the summer months. Creeping and potted greenery (non-flowering and evergreen) has also been introduced, allowing the interior atmosphere to be maintained throughout the year.
