Project idea

Everyday we move. We move to go to school or to work. Therefore, to carry out these activities, at certain times we need to rest and take time for ourselves. Rest is a state of a person that nothing disturbs, disturbs. This is the moment of calm, the cessation of activity, of movement.
To ensure the rest and relaxation of these users, the proposal is inspired by the hourglass through its two parts: Sky which corresponds to its upper part and refers to spirituality, the abstract better to the immateriality of the universe; and Earth : Corresponding to its lower part, it refers to the laws of gravity, therefore here to the materiality they imply.
The design "freezes time" and then fully performs its function of rest. This led us to design two blocks for our design called Heaven and Earth.

Project description

Deeply inspired by designs with golden proportions, "Earth" presents itself with a simple and functional organization with a particular emphasis on interior design. For example, the false ceiling is made of woven mat, as is the furniture which refers to craftsmanship, that is to say manual work.
It includes within it all the rooms of the day area that are the living room, the kitchen and the guest toilets.

“Sky”, the second block of the design, embodies the spiritual or even immaterial aspect of things. This part, which includes the privacy of users, must be preserved or even hidden. In this, we intervene, through the abstract character of the spiritual that it embodies, by the arrangement along its main facade of designer screens so as to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the ephemeral, intangible but beautiful character of light. Also the design is such that natural air can easily circulate between the slats to ventilate the different rooms.
There is a "relaxation room" which involves three considerations suggested by the light: reading suggested by the narrow window near the library, meditation by the skylight on the fresco in the center of the room and rest, sleep by the contribution low or no light on the sleeper.

Technical information

Presenting itself as a strong symbol of materiality, "Earth" brings together materials such as BTC, straw, wood, bamboo...

"Sky" is a part that wants to be modern, reinforcing the contrast with the traditional side developed earlier, recalling materiality and immateriality; the concrete and the abstract. The materials used are essentially concrete, iron, steel...
