Project idea

The idea of the project is to create a center that’s dedicated to spreading knowledge about the possible future settlement of humans on mars by providing lectures and educational courses for people and showcasing how life would be like on the red planet.

Project description

The project consists of two main parts or functions; an educational floor and an Exhibition.
The first floor is the educational floor. it has its own separate entrance and consists of a conference hall, multiple lecture halls, computer lab, staff break area and VIP lounge for the frequent special lecturers.
The ground floor includes a cafe and a gift shop in addition to the reception.
The exhibition starts from the ground floor. after passing by the reception, visitors enter a simulation of a Mars settlement that includes all essential zones of a place for humans to live; a living space, an excercise zone, a kitchen and dinning room, a vertical farm to grow the food, a sleeping pod and a bathroom pod) and by finishing their tour inside it they reach the exhibition floor.

Technical information

The main structure of the building is a mix of reinforced concrete core, steel space frame structures and composite beams and decks. The skin of the building is clad with rectangular aluminum cladding panels. The floor’s structure is steel slab.
The settlement form is steel structure with outer aluminum cladding
