The main objective of this project is the creation of a water sports center in Rostov-on-Don, as well as the development of the territory adjacent to it. The main concept of the project is to create a visual connection between the two banks of the river, as well as to emphasize the characteristics of the natural landscape with the help of the bionic architectural forms of the object. The river often makes it difficult to form settlements. It breaks the urban fabric, isolating the two banks from each other, which in turn introduces difficulties in the functional zoning of the territory. Based on this factor, it was decided to place the facility on both banks of the river.
The project is a complex that includes several areas of water sports. The location of the facility near the river opened up the possibility of placing sections related to water sports in open water. The southern block of the building includes a swimming and jumping pools, as well as a combined pool for team games and recreational swimming. The northern block houses a diving pool, a spa, and storage facilities for open water sports equipment. Based on the plans for the development of this area, as well as its natural features, we can say that the placement of this facility on the banks of the Dead Donets will become not only a visual link, but also a center of attraction for the urban population.
The site for the design was chosen a territory located near the Kumzhenskaya grove, located on the spit of the Don and the Dead Donets. In this area, a gentle relief prevails, which in turn allows you to place large-span structures without obstacles. The design area is located along the banks of the Mertviy Donets River.
The structural system of the building is spatial in the form of a shell, consisting of thin-walled shells and spatial metal structures. The elements are interconnected and work as a whole. This reduces the consumption of material and the weight of the coating, makes it more economical and allows you to cover a large area. The main materials in the project are metal, fiber-reinforced concrete and glass.
