INDUSTRIAL TOURISM

Project idea

This project is based on the proposed zoning of the urban environment of Kirovsk.
According to the long-term development plan of the territory of the considered part of the city, it is planned
to build multi-storey residential buildings, sports complexes, as well
as shopping and entertainment centers. Based on this, the project proposes a functional
zoning:
on the west side of the station - an active recreation area,
on the east side of the station - a quiet recreation area,
on the north side - a zone for mass events,
the building of the station itself adapts to administrative and museum activities.
It is assumed in the administrative part that the premises will be rented for commercial needs,
the museum part is divided into open and closed spaces, with permanent and temporary
exhibitions, expositions, musical and thematic events.

Project description

In the pre-project study, the following unique components of this territory
related to rail transport were noted:
old wooden railway sleepers,
the sounds of the current railway communication,
street art on the main facade, which is a point of attraction for photo tourism.

Technical information

Taking into account the peculiarities of the technogenic landscape of the area, the project proposes multi
-level sites. Pedestrian directions are made of various metal structures with flooring.
The emphasis is on the road of dismantled railway platforms that were previously
used for the transportation of goods. The choice of this solution is based on preserving the "spirit of the place"
of the railway station, supporting the idea of industrial tourism development, popularizing
the historical place.
