Project idea

The design concept was based on optimizing the vertical circulation of the hospital among the different units. All the hospital components were connected to the operations department, which served as the core of the facility.

Project description

This project is a 300-bed general hospital that consists of a basement and ten floors. The basement houses a central kitchen, a central laundry, workshops, warehouses, a morgue, and staff parking. The ground floor contains the outpatient department, the laboratories, the radiology department, the emergency department, the central pharmacy, the epidemiology department, and the physiotherapy department. The first floor has a pediatric ward and an operating department. The second floor has a maternity ward and an intensive care department. The third floor has a surgical ward and an administration department. The rest of the floors from the fourth to the tenth are medical wards.

Technical information

This project is a 300-bed general hospital with a basement and ten floors. The building covers 44,035 square meters and is 55 meters high. It is made of reinforced concrete frames and precast panels. The basement has 16 parking spaces and 20 service rooms. The ground floor has the outpatient department, the laboratories, the radiology department, the emergency department, the central pharmacy, the epidemiology department, and the physiotherapy department. It also has a lobby with a reception desk and a waiting area. The first floor has the pediatric ward with 58 beds in 10 rooms and the operating department with 4 operating theaters and other facilities. The second floor has the maternity ward with 34 beds in 14 rooms and a delivery room and the intensive care department with 26 beds in 4 big rooms and other facilities. The third floor has the surgical ward with 34 beds in 14 rooms and other facilities and the administration department with 13 offices and other facilities. The rest of the floors from the fourth to the tenth are medical wards with 34 beds in 14 rooms each. Each floor also has a nursing station, a medication room, and an examination room.

The building has various systems for comfort, safety, and efficiency. It has a central ventilation system, natural lighting, underfloor heating, air conditioning, fire safety, communication, security, and waste management systems. It also has recycling facilities.

The building is energy efficient and environmentally friendly. It uses solar panels for electricity, LED lights and motion sensors for power saving, low-flow faucets and dual-flush toilets for water saving, rainwater harvesting for irrigation and cleaning, natural stone and recycled plastic for green materials.
